Position purpose:
The position requires the individual to load clean linen in a sling for processing.
Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks:
Start-up time to arrange carts and having sling ready to hang items.
Monitor all faults and clear any faults from the machine.
Maintain data, compile daily reports, and return to a supervisor at the end of the shift.
Twice daily inspect starch cooker.
Notify supervisor of any maintenance, chemical faults, or machine faults.
Immediately report equipment problems to maintenance department.
Constantly monitor and clean the area as necessary.
Follow safety rules and guidelines at all times.
Wear personal protective equipment if necessary.
Perform other related duties as required and requested by supervisor.
Ensure that loads are being processed in proper sequence and at the proper weight.
Qualifications:
Self-starter that can work independently and set the pace for the team.
Must have excellent communication skills and be able to give clear and concise directions.
Must be highly organized.
Ability to prioritize and focus on multiple tasks, for example, running the conventional washer and CBW.
Must be flexible in work assignments and schedule.
Able to read, write and understand English.
Must have basic computer skills.
Must be able to load 220 lbs. to 375 lbs. of soiled linen every three minutes.
Must be able to push, pull or move heavy carts of full clean towels and hang the linen and napkins.
Must be able to stand, bend, lift, squat, stoop, and move frequently throughout the day.
Special Position Requirements:
Must be able to sort by color.
Preferences:
Linen experience preferred.
Work Requirements:
Must be able to work any shift, time, holidays, and weekends.
