JOB DESCRIPTION: LAUNDRY MECHANIC

Position purpose:
Repair and maintain washer, dryers, extractors, condensers, pumps, blowers, presses and other laundry equipment - operate, examine and dismantle equipment to diagnose the cause of malfunction.

Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks:
Repair or replace parts using hand tools and measuring instruments.
Replace components such as bearings, and motor and micro switches.
Replace faulty sections of pipes, valves and fittings using plumbing tools.
Dismantle steam traps and remove sediments.
Remove face plate from equipment to clean out dust and lint.
Replace worn or torn apron pads on ironers.
Lubricate machines and equipment using grease gun and oil can.
Look up parts that need to be ordered.
Perform daily paper work, meter reading, CBW report and water testing.

Qualifications:
Mechanic – experienced people preferred.
Must have an HP boiler license.

Special Position Requirements:
Must have a sense of urgency.
Must be proactive.

Preferences:
Laundry experience preferred.

Work Requirements:
Must be able to work on any shift, time, holidays and weekends.
